Motorcyclist (50s) dies after car crash in Donegal

The male driver of the car was not injured.

A MAN IN his 50s has died in a road traffic collision involving his motorbike and a car in Donegal this afternoon.

The fatal incident occurred at Castleforward on the main Burnfoot to Buncrana Road (R238) at around 5.30pm.

The motorcyclist was fatally injured in the collision and was taken to Altnagelvin Area Hospital in Derry. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

The male driver of the car was not injured.

The coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

The road is currently closed to facilitate Garda forensic collision investigators and diversions are in place. Gardaí at Buncrana are investigating the incident.
