Eight dead after major crash between two lorries and minibus on UK motorway

The crash happened early this morning.

EIGHT PEOPLE HAVE died and at least four people have been hospitalised after a major crash on one of the UK’s busiest motorways involving two lorries and a minibus.

The crash happened on central England’s M1 motorway near to Newport Pagnell at about 3.15 am this morning.

Thames Valley Police have said that all three vehicles were travelling in the same southbound direction when the crash happened.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remain in police custody.

The section of motorway where the crash happened remains closed and police have said it will remain closed for “a significant period of time”.

“Our thoughts are very much with the families of those involved in this morning’s collision, and we are currently working to locate and inform their next of kins,” Thames Valley Police’s Henry Parsons.
