"We're devastated" - Irish racing family in shock after tragic death of son in Argentina

Christopher Morris was the son of horse trainer Mouse Morris.

A WELL-KNOWN Irish horse trainer has spoken of his shock after his son died of suspected carbon monoxide poisoning in Argentina.

Gold Cup winning trainer Michael ‘Mouse’ Morris has said that the family are “devastated” by the loss of 30-year-old Christopher Morris.

A report from the Press Association quotes Mouse Morris as saying,  ”he was my son, he was the best.”

“He was the only person who had his head screwed on. We’re devastated. It’s shocking. ‘It’s unbelievable, I just can’t believe it.”

The young chef, known as Tiffer to his friends, was living most recently in Kildare but is believed to have been travelling for the past number of months.

The local Los Andes newspaper reports that early indications suggest that the stoves were lit in the room with carbon monoxide poisoning a possible cause of death.

The young man’s brother Jamie Morris has been posting tributes to his bother online. He says the family have been “overwhelmed with the love and support that has been shown to us”.
