Up to 14 vehicles involved in serious crash in Cork

Part of the Midleton to Cork city road is currently closed and diversions are in place.

A MULTI-VEHICLE COLLISION has occurred on the Midleton to Cork city road.

The incident happened on the N25 inbound shortly before 3pm.

Gardaí said up to 14 vehicles were involved. No serious injuries have been reported at this stage.

The collision occurred approximately 600 metres from the city side of the Cobh interchange. Emergency services are at the scene.

The road is currently closed and diversions are in place. Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes.

Witnesses have been asked to contact Anglesea St garda station on 021 4522000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.

Separately, there have been a number of crashes on the M8 due to very bad sleet.
