Gardaí appeal for witnesses after man shot dead at back of apartment complex

Kieran Farrelly was murdered on Sunday October 26.

GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING THE murder of Kieran Farrelly are appealing for witnesses.

The 33-year-old was shot dead before midnight on Sunday October 26 at the back of the Killarney Court apartment complex on Empress Place.

As part of their ongoing investigation, Mountjoy Gardaí wish to speak to anyone who may have been in the Killarney Court/Empress Place/Portland Row area of Dublin on the Bank Holiday Sunday, October 26.

They particularly wish to speak to:

  • anyone who was in the area between 23.15 and midnight that night
  • anyone who may have seen a group of people
  • anyone who may have heard a disturbance between those times

Gardaí have arrested two women and a man all of whom have been released, pending a file to the DPP.

The attack took place within a few hours of two other violent attacks in Dublin’s north inner city that day.

A taxi was robbed and a homeless man was assaulted just hours before the fatal shooting.

The three attacks occurred within a kilometre of each other.
