Watch: Starlings at it again with dazzling Galway murmuration

Everyday at 4pm in Lackagh.

http://youtu.be/ANip0rZpg8E

(Youtube / Lesley Joyce)

WE’VE SEEN SOME murmurations in our time (purely on Youtube obviously) but this video from the parish of Lackagh in Galway is among the most mesmerising.

Recorded by Lesley Joyce, the phenomenon has been happening at about 4pm every day for the past few weeks when the starlings gather above a church in the area.

Enjoy.

Lovely to look at, however friends of mine live in a house close to where they take off from and their house is destroyed with birdshit.

Everyday after work, i sit on a bench on the quay at 4pm in Wexford town just to watch the starlings do their dance in the sky. It’s so peaceful just watching them and having a love for birds makes it even more amazing. It’s almost as if they exercise before going to sleep.

Wonderful starling murmuration happening every evening in Kilmessan Co Meath and numbers of birds growing every day. It starts around 4.30 and is amazing to watch. Never seen them here before this year. Hope it lasts for another while yet

Does the fact that it happened over a church have anything to do with it?
