Nails hammered into man's hands in horrifying burglary attack

The 23-year-old was attacked by a group of masked men who gained entry to the house shortly after 8pm last night.

POLICE IN BELFAST are appealing for information after a man had nails hammered into his hands in an attack last night.

It happened in the course of what’s being described as an aggravated burglary in the Florence Walk area of the city.

A number of masked men entered a house at around 8.15pm and attacked the 23-year-occupant.

According to police, he was forced into the kitchen where the men are reported to have hammered a nail into each of his hands.

He was later taken to hospital for treatment.

Detective Sergeant Keith Wilson said he was appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information to contact police.

A woman who was also in the house at the time was not injured.
