Irish fishing vessel detained off Waterford coast

This detention is the twelfth made by the Naval Service this year following 901 boardings.

THE NAVAL COASTAL Patrol Vessel LÉ Ciara detained an Irish registered fishing vessel off the the Waterford coast this afternoon.

The fishing vessel was detained approximately twenty nautical miles south of the coast at 1pm for an alleged breach of fishing regulations.

This detention is the twelfth made by the Naval Service this year following 901 boardings.

The fishing vessel has now hauled its nets and was escorted by the LÉ Ciara to Cobh. The vessel was then handed over to the gardaí.
