Young victim left with serious stab wounds after attack in Meath

The man was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

A YOUNG MAN was rushed to hospital after suffering serious stab wounds following an assault in Co Meath last night.

Gardaí say that the attack happened at Knockcommon, Beauparc in Navan at about 10.15pm.

A 21-year-old man was seriously injured in the attack and was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda. His injuries have been described as serious but stable.

Gardaí say that no arrests have yet been made but that a red Volkswagon Passet was found partially submerged in water not far from where the assault took place.

The car has a 00-G registration.

Gardai are appealing for anyone to come forward if they say any suspicious activity in the Knockcommon area at about 9.30-11pm last night.
