Judge admits taking part in neknomination was ‘foolish’

Judge Watters said that she “would discourage anyone else from repeating” what she did.

Updated 11.40pm

A JUDGE IN Northern Ireland has said that taking part in a neknomination was “foolish”.

A video appeared online of Judge Rosemary Watters downing a shot of alcohol before neknominating a friend.

In a statement from the Lord Chief Justice’s Office, it was noted that the video was taken a family event, and that the Judge “recognises her foolish behaviour”.

It continues to note that Judge Watters “would discourage anyone else from repeating what she did”.

The Lord Chief Justice of Northern Ireland is “making enquiries” about the incident, and has noted the admission of ‘foolishness’.

The drinking game, in which a person is filmed downing a drink and then nominating a friend to do the same, has been criticised by alcohol awareness groups.

Irish MEP Sean Kelly has said the European legislation is needed to monitor social media for dangerous activities such as neknominations.
