New information leads to arrest over 2011 stabbing of Dublin solicitor

The female victim has recovered from the incident.

NEW INFORMATION OBTAINED by gardaí investigating a stabbing which occurred in north Dublin two years ago has led to a fresh arrest.

A man in his 30s was detained in Dublin city centre this morning. He is being questioned at Coolock garda station about a vicious assault on a 44-year-old woman in her home at Donaghmede Park just before midnight on 7 April 2011.

The victim, a solicitor for ESB, suffered serious injuries in the stabbing but recovered after being treated at Beaumont Hospital.

She was stabbed multiple times in the brutal attack, which is understood to have happened during the second of two break-ins at her home.
