So long 2014: Ireland welcomes a new year

Sure it’ll be Christmas again before you know it.

ACROSS IRELAND, PEOPLE will be waking up with weary heads and, perhaps, a sense of renewal today as 2015 kicks off.

But first came the party as thousands poured onto the streets to ring in the new year.

In Dublin, the New Year’s Festival saw thousands watch bands like Kodaline and Walking on Cars, as well as taking in a procession of light.
