New York building partially collapses on Manhattan’s west side

One person is reported to be injured.

A BUILDING IN New York has partially collapsed on Manhattan’s west side.

The New York Police Department said a building collapsed on 622 West 57 street. People are urged to avoid the surrounding area.

CBS News reports that the building was being demolished when it suffered a partial collapse when workers were digging inside it.

One person was injured, officials said.

Associated Press reports that fire fighters are at the scene.

The New York Fire Department says one person may be injured at the three-story building.

Photos show scaffolding on the side of the building collapsing onto the sidewalk near two school buses.
