New Zealand hit by earthquake - no damage reported

The New Zealand city of Christchurch, which has been hit by a number of earthquakes over the last year (pictured), has been struck by a quake this morning.

THE NEW ZEALAND city of Christchurch has been hit by another earthquake.

The Associated Press reports this morning that the quake, measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale, struck at 8.30pm New Zealand time today.

There are no reports of injuries or damage so far.

This is the latest in a string of quakes that have struck the city in the past year.

On 22 February, a quake measuring 6.1 in magnitude killed 181 people.

It destroyed large parts of the city, which are currently being rebuilt.
