Gardaí are still searching for gun after man dies in shooting

Gardaí were called to the scene at about 8.30pm last night.

GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING THE death of a man with apparent gunshot wounds have yet to find the weapon, it has emerged this afternoon.

Gardaí believe Gary O’Brien (50) from Finglas died after he was shot in the head at a flat on the North Circular Road at about 8.30pm last night.

A woman is helping officers with their investigation.

Post-mortem results are due this evening and will determine whether or not a murder investigation will now begin.

The man was pronounced dead on the premises.

The scene has since been preserved for examination.

Gardaí say no arrests have been made.
