"Do you wanna hit this?" - Barack Obama turns down offer of a joint in Colorado bar

It appears his weed-smoking days are behind him.

Matt Hew / YouTube

ACCORDING TO ONE biographer, Barack Obama was part of the ‘Choom Gang’ growing up in Hawaii. A group of friends who regularly met up and smoked marijuana together.

But it appears that Obama’s weed-smoking days are behind him after he laughed off the offer of some legal cannabis in a Colorado bar.

The president was greeting and shaking hands in the packed bar when someone turned to him and asked “do you wanna hit this?”.

You perhaps won’t be surprised to guess that the President of United States didn’t want to be filmed taking the gentleman up on his offer.

The smoking, cultivation and selling of marijuana is legal in Colorado and the development of the pot industry there is being watched closely by other states.

Obama has said previously that he has no plans at a federal level to curb states pursuing their own cannabis liberalisation laws.
