Elderly man dies after crashing into bus in Offaly

The man’s vehicle hit a curb and collided with a bus. No one else was injured in the crash.

A MAN IN his 70s was killed in a road crash in Offaly this afternoon.

The man’s vehicle collided with the kerbside and hit a bus on Arden Road, Tullamore at 1pm. Emergency services attended and the elderly man was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was the sole occupant of the vehicle no other injuries were reported as there were no passengers on the bus at the time.

The man’s body has been taken to Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore where a post mortem is to be arranged.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a forensic collision investigation and diversions are in place.
