10-year-old boy dies after being struck by a car in Co Offaly

The collision occurred on the Tullamore to Rahan Road at Ballykilmurray at about 9.15 am.

A 10-YEAR-OLD boy has died after being struck by a car just outside Tullamore this morning.

The collision occurred on the Tullamore to Rahan Road at Ballykilmurray at about 9.15 am.

The boy was seriously injured and was taken by ambulance to Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore but has since died.

A post mortem will take place later today.
Gardaí say that the road is still closed and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí say they are investigating the incident.
