Open thread: What should we do with all the empty garda stations?

Your suggestions please…

THE GOVERNMENT HAS closed down 139 garda stations over the past two years, and now it’s looking for suggestions for what to do with them all.

It was announced today that forty of the now-empty buildings around the country are to be sold off because the State couldn’t think of anything that it could actually use the buildings for.

Already a lot of community groups have started coming forward with ideas for things they could do with the remaining buildings. In the meantime, we’ll have to wait and see what the people who buy the stations do with them.

So we’re turning this over to you lot. What do you think the empty buildings should be used for? Hang-out places for local kids? Créches? Weird nightclubs-cum-dungeons?

Give us your suggestions in the comments…
