In pics: Orange Order parade stopped from entering Ardoyne

PSNI stopped the parade on the Woodvale Road, one kilometre outside Ardoyne.

AN ORANGE ORDER parade was stopped by PSNI in North Belfast yesterday afternoon.

The Orangemen had applied to march through the nationalist Ardoyne area but the Parades’ Commission ruled against the move.

It comes after five days of rioting following  the Twelfth of July commemoration parade that injured 70 police officers.

Thousands of supporters turned out for the parade yesterday, here are the pictures:
