7-year-old boy dies after falling into river

The boy fell into the Owenacurra river in Co Cork on Saturday night.

THE 7-YEAR-OLD boy who fell into the Owenacurra river died from his injuries last night.

The tragic accident happened in Midleton in Co Cork on Saturday evening when the child accidentally slipped into the river while playing with friends.

Having initially been taken to Cork University Hospital, the boy was later transferred to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin.
