Man charged over the murder of Waterford pensioner Paddy Lyons

He will appear in court this morning.

A MAN HAS been charged over the murder of 90-year-old Paddy Lyons at his home in Waterford.

Lyons was found dead in a chair in his small cottage in Ballysaggart on Saturday afternoon.

After a port-mortem was carried out on the body of the pensioner, a murder investigation was launched.

A man in his 20s was arrested in Waterford on Monday in connection with the killing.

He has now been charged and will appear before Dungarvan District at 10.30am this morning.

Comments have been closed as legal proceedings are ongoing.
