Woman arrested in Paddy Redmond murder case

65-year-old Redmond was stabbed to death in the early hours of 10 November at an apartment in Limerick City.

GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING THE murder of Paddy Redmond in Limerick last month have arrested a woman in her 40s.

65-year-old Redmond was stabbed to death in the early hours of 10 November at an apartment on Dock Road in the city.

Gardaí had been called to the scene at about 2am on the night before the deceased was brought to University Hospital Limerick where he later died.

Today, gardaí based out of Henry Street in the city arrested the woman in connection with the murder and are currently detaining her under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

She can be held for up to 24 hours.
