Woman allegedly gang-raped near Eiffel Tower after arranging date with man on Facebook

Three men have been jailed.

THREE MEN HAVE been charged and jailed after a woman was allegedly gang-raped near the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

One of the men reportedly lured her to the location on Facebook, French officials said.

A police official said three Algerian men were arrested earlier this week at a Paris hotel under suspicion of taking part in the rape of the French woman in the Champ de Mars garden, close to the famous tower.

The official said one of the men is suspected of chatting to the woman on Facebook and then arranging a date with her in Paris.

The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation.

The Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed three men have been given preliminary charges in the case and jailed.
