Paris says it will sue Fox News

Its mayor, Anne Hidalgo, made the comment today.

THE CITY OF Paris will sue Fox News, its mayor Anne Hidalgo said today.

In an interview with CNN’s Christane Amanpour, she said:

When we’re insulted, and when we’ve had an image, I think we’ll have to go to court in order to have these words removed. The image of Paris has been prejudiced and the honour of Paris has been prejudiced.

“In the great discussion of truth, everyone is going to have to play their role,” she added.

She then clarified that Fox News was the network she intended on suing. Fox has not officially commented on the news.

“No-go zones”

Fox News recently apologised for referring to “no-go zones” in Birmingham and France, areas where non-Muslims were alleged to be unwelcome.

Fox said that it made some “regrettable errors on air” regarding the Muslim population in Europe. It apologised to the people of France and England for the remarks.
