The all-new seven-seat Peugeot 5008 is now on sale in Ireland

New look Peugeot 5008 starts at €29,345.

THE NEW PEUGEOT 5008 seven-seat SUV has officially gone on sale in Ireland with a starting price of €29,345.

Much like its smaller sibling the 3008, the 5008 has had a radical makeover and is no longer a sedate seven-seat MPV. It is now a large striking SUV ready to take on the likes of the Kia Sorento, Hyundai Santa Fe, Land Rover Discovery Sport and Skoda Kodiaq.

The all-new 5008 SUV is built on the same Efficient Modular Platform 2 (EMP2) as the 308 and the all-new 3008 SUV, though it is 19cm longer than the 3008 and 11cm longer than the model it replaces. It is the same height as before at 1.64m.

Seating wise, the three middle-row seats all fold and tilt separately and each features three-point ISOFIX child seat anchors. Two seats which fold independently of each other make up the third row. These two seats are easily removable and when the car is in a five-seat configuration the boot capacity is 1,060 litres.

The front passenger seat also folds flat to accommodate loads up to 3.2 metres in length.

The interior features the slick Peugeot i-Cockpit layout with an eight-inch touchscreen dashboard and 12.3-inch high-res digital head-up display.

The 5008 is available in Access, Active, Allure, GT-Line and GT trims.

Both petrol and diesel engines are available. The petrol lineup includes the 130hp 1.2-litre PureTech turbo unit, available with manual or automatic transmission and the 165hp 1.6-litre THP engine mated to a EAT6 six-speed automatic gearbox.

A range of 1.6- and 2.0-litre BlueHDi litre diesel engines, with manual and automatic transmissions, are available with power ranging between 100, 120, 150 and 180hp. The range-topping GT model comes equipped as standard with a 180hp 2.0-litre BlueHDi diesel mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox.

Access models with a 1.2-litre PureTech petrol engine and manual gearbox cost from €29,345. The Active models begin at €31,645 and include 17-inch alloy wheels, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 180-degree reversing camera and a Safety Pack with automatic emergency braking.

Mid-level Allure models start at €33,205 and include 18-inch alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, interior ambient lighting and front and rear parking sensors.

The GT Line models start at €36,575 and feature specific GT Line badging, a contrasting black roof, full LED headlights, a panoramic glass sunroof and wireless charging.

The range-topping GT modes start at €47,745 and features include ‘GT’ badging, 18-inch alloy wheels, Nappa Mistral leather upholstery, electrically adjustable and heated front seats, 3D satellite navigation, Advanced Grip Control and Hill Descent Control.

All 5008 models come with a five-year extended warranty.

The new Peugeot 5008 seven seater SUV will be available for test drives at Peugeot dealerships during the Peugeot SUV Drivetime event which runs until 22 December.
