Aerial photos show scale of massive fire that gutted Manchester mill

The fire broke out at Oldham Maple Mill at 4.15am yesterday. Footage from the scene today showed huge amounts of smoke still at the site.

It took seven hours for the fire to be taken under control by firefighters, according to the BBC.

It said that the residents of around 100 homes nearby also had to leave due to the force of the blaze. An emergency centre was set up after the evacuation.

The fire, which is believed to have broken out on the top floor of the mill, is being investigated.
