British Airways called the passenger “unruly.”

Updated 7.34 pm

A WOMAN ON board a flight from London to Boston was restrained after she allegedly attempted to open an exit door while drunk.

The British Airways flight is now on the ground at Logan Airport and the woman, thought to be about 30, is being interviewed by Massachusetts State Police who say she will face charges.

The flight left London Heathrow Airport shortly before 12pm and landed 30 minutes behind schedule.

The woman was restrained during the flight and police were waiting to arrest her when it landed.

Police are now saying that initial investigations have concluded that she was drunk and that there is “no known nexus to terrorism”.

In a statement, British Airways called the passenger “unruly”.
