Police release new footage of murdered MI6 man

Appeal for information to help solve mystery death of 30-year-old spy.

POLICE INVESTIGATING THE MURDER of MI6 employee Gareth Williams, 30, have released the below footage of Williams around London in mid-August.

Williams’ body was found inside a large sports bag in the bath of his London apartment on 23 August, after police forced their way into the premises.

The police released the videos to appeal for help in solving his murder.

This first video shows the CCTV footage of Williams at the Holland Park tube station on 14 August:

Ongoing investigation

Police still don’t know what caused Williams’ death.

They told the BBC that Williams’ death “remains a complex unexplained death inquiry”. An initial port-mortem examination failed to determine the cause of death, and no traces of alcohol or drugs were found in subsequent toxicology tests.

They have appealed to anyone who may have seen Williams around London between his return from a US holiday on 11 August and the discovery of his body 12 days later.

Investigators said they do not believe anything is missing from Williams’ home, or that items were specifically posed. His phone and a number of Sim cards were discovered laid out on the bed.
