POLICE OFFICERS IN North Belfast searched a house under the Misuse of Drugs Act – and perhaps found more than they bargained for.

Officers from Tennent Street Neighbourhood Policing Team conducted a search of a house in Ballysillan this morning – and discovered a small quantity of suspected cannabis, as well as knives, replica firearms and phones.

The police investigation into the find is continuing.

“I would appeal to anyone who has concerns about drugs in your community to contact police. We will look into any report that we receive as we work with the community to reduce the harm caused by illegal drugs,” said Inspector David McBride, who noted that in Northern Ireland, the non-emergency number is 101.
