Unions are calling for pay rises ahead of tax cuts for the general public.

A CIVIL SERVICE union has called for the pay of their members to be restored after drastic cuts imposed in recent years, RTÉ reports.

The Public Service Executive Union (PSEU) believes it should be treated as a priority over tax cuts for the general public as the civil service received a ‘disproportionate’ amount of the burden of austerity measures.
