Poll: Should wealthier drivers face higher speeding fines?

Countries such as Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Austria, France and Switzerland all have versions of “sliding scale” fines.

THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE of the Road Safety Authority says she is looking into a graduated system for fines.

Moyagh Murdock told The Irish Times that “€80 is nothing to someone who is driving a Range Rover or similar type vehicle”.

A multimillionaire in Finland was recently fined €54,000 for breaking an 80km per hour speed limit under the country’s day rate.

So today we’re asking, do you think wealthier drivers should face higher speeding fines?
