Poll: Would you support the idea of drug testing stations at nightclubs?

The proposal is being examined by as part of the government’s latest national drug strategy.

DRUG TESTING NEEDS to be considered for festivals and nightclubs in order to cut down on overdoses and drug-related health problems, a senior addiction expert at the HSE recently told this website.

The proposal is being examined as part of the government’s latest national drug strategy. The idea has been tried in venues in other jurisdictions – where laboratory-style testing takes place in order to give a definitive report to the person who hands the pill or powder in.

However, critics of officially-sanctioned drug testing argue that it encourages drug use.

We’re asking: Would you support the idea of drug testing stations at nightclubs and other venues?

Poll Results:

Yes (7785)
No (1983)
Undecided (635)
No interest/no opinion (276)
