Poll: Should Irish laws on fireworks be loosened?

It’s illegal to light fireworks without a licence. Is this too strict?

WE’RE JUST OVER a week away from Halloween and we can expect this week to hear fireworks crackling above our heads in the next few days.

It is illegal for anyone to light fireworks unless they have been granted a licence, though it still happens all over the country around this time of year. This week Dublin City Council asked members of the public to let them know about illegal bonfires and fireworks.

We want to know: Should Irish laws on fireworks be loosened?

Poll Results:

Yes (6002)
No (4422)
I don't know (328)
