Poll: Should the ban on Good Friday alcohol sales be lifted?

Publicans say it is an “archaic law” and that this is the last year it should be enforced.

IT’S GOOD FRIDAY and that means at 10pm last night there was a run on off-licences all over the country due to the ban on selling alcohol.

Publicans have again called for the ban to be lifted, with the Licensed Vintners Association saying this should be the last year the “archaic law” is enforced.
