Poll: Should Ireland set school bag weight limits for children?

Five-year-olds in India are being asked to pop their satchels on weighing scales when they arrive for class so teachers can check they don’t exceed 2.5 kilograms.

THE GOVERNMENT IN west India are trying to prevent back problems for children by setting school bag weight limits.

It passed a resolution saying no child must carry to school a backpack that exceeds 10% of their body weight.

The education secretary in the region said it’s harmful for children as it causes spine and joint problems as well as stress and fatigue.
