Poll: Should it be a crime to pay for sex?

It will be soon.

FROM MONDAY, IT will be illegal to pay for the services of a sex worker in Northern Ireland.

Only various aspects of prostitution have been illegal, previously. For example, running a brothel.

The Irish government has confirmed that there’s similar legislation coming in the Republic that will make it illegal to pay for sex.

Sex Worker’s Alliance Ireland are opposed to the plans. They say it will drive prostitution further underground and make it more dangerous for sex workers.

Today’s poll, Should it be a crime to pay for sex?

Poll Results:

No, adults should be able to make their own choices. (7611)
No, it will make things worse for sex workers. (2953)
Yes, it will help battle exploitation. (2554)
Yes, it's morally wrong, make it illegal. (1405)
I'm not sure. (1247)
