A lot of you are glad to see that they’re staying.

WE FOUND OUT yesterday that the Poolbeg chimneys in Dublin are here to stay.

The chimneys stopped being functional years ago and last year ESB said it wouldn’t restore them.

However, after a public outcry it was announced yesterday that maintenance works will be carried out to protect the chimneys.

A lot of you were very happy with this news and sent us in some gorgeous snaps of the much loved chimneys, here’s a look at some of our favourites:

And don’t worry – the maintenance work won’t change their look but will prevent from rainwater and damage.

There’s also talk of the chimneys getting a lick of paint on the coming years.
