The Porsche 911 GT2 RS is the most powerful 911 of all time

Fastest and most powerful road-approved 911has 700hp and 750Nm of torque for added phwoah.

IF YOU LOOK closely, underneath that wing is the Porsche 911 GT2 RS and it is officially the fastest and most powerful road-going Porsche 911 yet.

At the heart of this Stuttgart wild child is a revised version of the twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre horizontally-opposed six-cylinder petrol engine that resides in the latest 911 Turbo S.

However, this version produces 110hp more thanks to large turbochargers that push an increased volume of air into the combustion chambers and a new additional cooling system that delivers optimum cooling at peak loads and, at very high temperatures, sprays the charge-air cooler with water.

There is also a customised GT seven-speed double-clutch transmission (PDK) in the new GT2 RS and power goes to the rear-wheels.

The two-seat coupe weighs in at a slender 1,470kg, delivers 700hp and 750Nm of torque, has a top speed of 340km/h and has a 0-100km/h time of 2.8 seconds, which, incredibly, is 0.1 seconds faster than the four-wheel-drive 911 Turbo S model.

It’s bonkers looking too. Check out those massive front air intakes, new front and rear bumpers and a new go-faster ducted bonnet. Those huge alloy wheels are clad in ‘UHP’ (Ultra High Performance) tyres measuring 265/35 ZR20 up front and 325/30 ZR21 at the back. Most of the body has been constructed out of CFRP (Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic) and as with the 911 GT3 RS, the standard roof is made from ultra-thin magnesium.

However, if you want to crank performance up a notch you can opt for the Weissach package which sheds 30kg off the car and has a magnesium wheels, a carbon roof with body-coloured central strip and the anti-roll bars are made of carbon, and so are the coupling rods on both axles.

Inside, it is just as wild with its red Alcantara and black leather decor and those wicked looking full bucket seats with a carbon-weave finish. There is a sports steering wheel with gearshift paddles (natch) and the Porsche Communication Management touchscreen infotainment system is standard. There is an optional Chrono Package which adds a stop watch on the dashboard so that you can accurately record lap times or those trips to the shop – with no rear seats this isn’t going to be suitable for the school run.

And the price? Well, you’ll need a cool €400,000 (approx) to import this into Ireland.
