Man due in court over armed post office raid in Kilkenny

The robbery took place in Kilmoganny on the afternoon of 23 December.

A MAN IN his fifties will appear in court this morning charged with the armed robbery of a post office in Co. Kilkenny.

The robbery took place in Kilmoganny on the afternoon of 23 December when a lone raider entered the post office and threatened the cashier with a handgun and demanded money.

He then fled the scene on foot after stealing a quantity of cash. Witnesses had said that the man had concealed his face but spoke with an Irish accent.

The man set to is set to be charged at Kilkenny District Court at 10.30 am.
