Pregnant woman punched in the face in Cork attack

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A YOUNG WOMAN who is six months pregnant was punched in the face in an attack in Cork city yesterday evening.

The 25-year-old was approached by three young men before being hit in the eye by one of them.

It happened on Princes Street at around 7:30pm.

The three men ran off in the direction of Oliver Plunkett Street. It’s understood that they were wearing tracksuits and that all of them had short dark hair.

The woman was offered medical assistance at the scene.

Gardaí are investigating and have begun examining CCTV footage from the area. They are also appealing for witnesses to come forward.
