A SINKHOLE HAS opened up on Dublin’s Dame Street, causing traffic delays in the centre of the city.
The hole is around three feet in diameter and has been cordoned off by Garda at the scene.
It is expected to be covered later this evening and an investigation into what caused it will begin tomorrow.
An engineer at the scene said that it could have been caused by water damage to the foundations beneath the road surface.
Westbound traffic on Dame Street is currently suspended between George Street and Parliament Street and cars are being advised to use alternative routes.

This is where a multi-pick option would be great. Saltburn a very uncomfortable but enjoyable couple of hours, Oppenheimer was great, will definitely see All of Us Strangers when it’s out here. Great couple of years in a row for the Irish in movies!
No doubt cillian Murphy is a great actor. And he was in openheimer but I found the film disappointing after the build up.
Arsonist “Concerned” citizens set fire to building earmarked for people who are homeless in Co. Galway.. People should be more concerned about somebody burning a building because they don’t like who might be living there than some dark skinned people who might be passing the road.

Oppenheimer is such an awful movie. Murphy is good enough but it’s a 2/10 movie at best. So many ‘facts’ invented from whole cloth. So many wasted characters – and it’s Chris Nolan, so most are female. So many awful clichés.
Just an absolute waste of time, money and talent.
And as bad as it was, it was no worse than Barbie, a movie seemingly designed to mock the people most passionate about its supposed ideals.
