Letter bomb sent to PSNI chief

The viable device was discovered at a sorting office in Belfast before being made safe.

A VIABLE LETTER bomb was sent to PSNI Chief Constable Matt Baggot according to police in Belfast.

The viable device was made safe by ammunition experts at a mail sorting office after it was discovered early this morning.

Police say the letter bomb was addressed to the Chief Constable at PSNI headquarters on the Knock Road in the east of the city.

The PSNI say they are asking the public to remain vigilant for any suspicious activity as a result of the incident.
