Man charged with attempted murder after 17-year-old stabbed in Co Derry

The 17-year-old male was stabbed in the Rainey Street area of Magherafelt in Co Derry in the early hours of Saturday morning.

THE PSNI HAVE charged a 22-year-old with attempted murder and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon.

The charge follows an incident yesterday in which a 17-year-old male was stabbed in the Rainey Street area of Magherafelt in Co Derry.

The 17-year-old was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The 22-year-old is due to appear in court in Derry tomorrow.
