Psychoactive stimulants and stolen gun seized in Carlow

Pentedrone is an ingredient in a number of “bath salt” mixes previously sold as legal highs.

GARDAÍ AND OFFICERS from Revenue and Customs have seized Pentedrone, a psychoactive stimulant, with an estimated value of €20,000.

The seizure was made after the search of a premises in Graiguecullen, Co Carlow at 11am this morning.

A firearm, which is believed to have been taken in the course of a burglary, was also recovered during the search as well as a quantity of ammunition.

A 49-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Carlow Garda Station.
