Quinn Group premises damaged in arson attack

The property was left with substantial damages and police believe the fire was started deliberately.

POLICE IN NORTHERN Ireland are appealing for information after a report of arson at a Quinn Group business premises in Co Fermanagh yesterday.

The PSNI said sometime between 6pm and 7pm, an electrical substation situated in a windfarm was on fire at the Ballyconnell Road, Derrylin. No one was injured during the incident, but the property was left with substantial damages.

At this stage, police believe the fire was started deliberately. They said inquiries are continuing.

Last year a truck was driven into a wall at a Quinn Group premises in the same complex and in January there was a fire at the group headquarters.

Police appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time or who has any other information that could assist the investigation to contact them. The number to call is 0845 600 8000 and anyone who wished to remain anonymous can contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
