Petrol bombs thrown outside former Quinn property in Fermanagh

No injuries were reported to police.

THE PSNI HAVE confirmed a petrol bomb attack occurred near the Quinn Group’s former property on the Ballyconnell Road in Derrylin last night.

Detectives in Fermanagh have appealed for information about the incident, which occurred just before 9.15pm. They believe a car with a number of males on board stopped outside the premises and threw two petrol bombs, causing scorch damage to BT cabinets on the road.

There were minor disruptions to phone services in the area as a result.

Aventas, which took over the operation in Derrylin on the collapse of the Quinn Group, said it will be business as usual today, confirming there was no harm caused to its buildings.

Last year, the firm said there was a “continuing campaign of sabotage, intimidation and vilification against this company and certain of its employees”.
