Updated (with pictures): Quintuplets born in Czech Republic

Alexandra Kinova was told she was having twins…but it was actually quintuplets.

WE TOLD YOU about the 23-year-old Czech woman about to give birth to QUINTUPLETS yesterday and Alexandra Kinova is now the proud mum of four boys and a girl.

Officials at Prague’s Institute for the Care of Mother and Child say Deniel, Michael, Alex, Martin and Terezka – were born by Caesarean section on Sunday.

Zbynek Stranak, chief doctor at the neonatal section of the institute says the birth took place “without any complications”.

Stranak says that Alexandra Kinova and her five babies have been placed at an intensive care unit. He says the babies who were naturally conceived have a 95 per cent chance to grow up healthy.

The father was present at the birth.

Kinova who is from Milovice, a town located northeast of Prague, already had a son. She defied odds of around one in 60 million by becoming pregnant with five babies without the use of IVF treatment.
