Nine refugees found in the back of a lorry in Wexford

Some of the group were taken to University Hospital Waterford for medical assessment.

NINE REFUGEES WERE found in the back of a lorry in the South East this afternoon.

The nine men were discovered in the back of a trailer in New Ross, Wexford at around 3.30pm.

A garda spokesperson told TheJournal.ie that the men were treated at the scene by ambulance and some were taken to University Hospital Waterford for medical assessement.

It’s understood that the truck disembarked from a ferry from France at Rosslare Port.

It’s not yet known where the group are from but the garda emigration unit is investigating and translators are being called in.
