County by county: Here's where the extra 30,000 who registered to vote come from

Clare came out with the lowest amount of people being added at just 78.

MORE THAN 30,000 people have been added to the supplementary register ahead of tomorrow’s general election.

Dublin City had the highest amount of people (3,717), followed by Cork county (2,545) and Kildare (2,291).

Clare came out with the lowest number of people being added at just 78, while Roscommon was the next lowest with 199.

Here’s the full breakdown of where those 30,185 people come from:

The National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI) is calling on young people to ensure they cast their vote. NYCI deputy director James Doorley said:

The focus must turn to getting out the vote. NYCI is encouraging 18 to 25 year olds in particular to make sure they make their voices heard tomorrow.

“We welcome this increase, and remind young people to go out and vote in the upcoming election. It is your democratic right and a great opportunity to have your say in shaping the future of this country.”

A spokesperson for NYCI added that the Sligo number is provisional.
